Reminder for U.S. Passport Holders - "X" Gender Option
The UCR Education Abroad team wants to remind students who are U.S. passport holders that they have options when it comes to gender identity on their passport. Important Note on the "X" Gender Passport Option: On April 11, 2022, the United States joined a growing list of countries that allow for a third gender option (“X”) in passports. Because most countries continue to offer only binary options for identifying sex and the "X" gender option remains unknown to many border control agents and passport screeners, students traveling with an "X" gender option on their passport may encounter issues

Dear Campus Community, The events of this past week in Europe have left many of us shaken by the images and stories coming out of Ukraine. The unexpected war has made us feel vulnerable and helpless; we shake our heads in horror and wonder, “how can this be happening?” We feel compelled to look for ways to bring comfort to those UCR international communities closely affected during this time. From personal experience, I know all too well the emotional toll of war and the challenges that ongoing instability can cause, up close and from a distance. One of the main barriers for these
