Faculty-Led Education Abroad Program (FLEAP) Proposal

A committee will review this FLEAP proposal, including its relevance to the proposed program site(s), and your expertise in the subject matter and/or location(s). Student interest, costs, support from your department, and potential for long-term sustainability will also be factors. We may require additional information before the final decision, either from you or the third-party provider. In some cases, the committee may ask the faculty to revise and resubmit their proposal. We may only accept some proposals or ask that you run your proposed program later.

Faculty on approved FLEAP proposals may begin to recruit students.

FLEAP Student Marketing and Recruitment

 

Student Enrollment and Program Marketing: Identify the ideal student for your FLEAP program. Consider the number of students who need the course for major/minor requirements, if the course will satisfy breadth requirements, and how many UCR students take the course. If possible, provide evidence of student interest
Student Recruitment: Indicate your availability and outline your plans to recruit students via classroom talks, information sessions, tabling, and other forms of recruitment, which happen as early as May the year before your program, with the most activity in Summer, Fall, and Winter quarters.   • Good academic and disciplinary standing with UCR
