Message to incoming F-1 students from ISS office, July 7 , 2020

Dear F-1 international students,

We are currently reviewing the guidance that was released by the government for the Fall 2020 quarter at UCR. The impact of this announcement is not yet clear for our campus, based on the way we are planning to move forward for the Fall. Our office is also waiting for additional guidance and possible changes from the government, specifically regarding how they want us to manage student records during this temporary period.

It may take some time to get clarification; however, once we have a definitive answer, we will communicate the new changes to all of you.

We know this is a stressful time. The guidance is unclear and it is difficult to wait for more detailed information.

Together with our colleagues in the University of California system and with educators across the U.S., we in International Affairs are actively advocating for changes through our professional networks and congressional representation.

Thank you for your patience. We will send updates when we know more details, but in the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions. Email Address: internationalstudents@ucr.edu and Jessica.Forrest@ucr.edu
